"In His
Hands"
About the Author
Jack Jay Burns was a gifted man whose God-given talent for writing poetry inspired many people to examine their lives and their relationship with the Lord.
Over the years I have had the privilege as his son and as a musician to collaborate lyrically with him on various projects of music for the Kingdom of God. The collection of poems you have before you represents a period of writing that took place during the last year of his life, birthed from an experience of fellowshipping in the sufferings of Christ. Since his passing, three of the poems in this book have already been set to music.
Some of the writings address controversial issues of our day such as abortion, while others more importantly embody the struggle involved in focusing faith in God through enduring prayer. First, the struggle with heartache over leaving those you love behind. Secondly, the temptation of blaming God for personal pain and it's outcome and last of all, the trial of believing God through the greatest difficultly of all: losing one's life. Whatever the expression, one thing rings true as a theme in this booklet: we are kept "In His Hands."
I am overjoyed to be able to make this poetry available to you. Our vision for writing has always been to glorify our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and I sincerely hope that you will be encouraged to entrust your life, as well, "In His Hands."
