Hab 3:19.."The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet
and he will make me to walk upon mine high places".
We are not born with "hinds feet" but are made to have them- otherwise our attempts to walk in high places without them will cause us to stumble and fall. God is calling us to spiritual heights, but just like the mountain goat, we must develop the necessary ability for climbing and standing. In the place of humility we will be made by God to withstand the mighty winds of pride that exist in the elevated places. Lucifer, himself, was perfect and without a sinful nature- yet he had fallen from the high place of exaltation because of pride.
It will always be a battle for the believer who will ascend and claim the lost position of his enemy. David found this out when becoming successor to the throne of Saul; Jesus, being born King of the Jews, faced this opposition from king Herod; and we, as Christians, will experience resistance from satan as we claim the right to reign with Christ.
REV 12:13..And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the
earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
REV 12:17..And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant
of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
One thing is clear: satan is angry because he has been cast down and replaced by the body of Christ. And who do you think is the target of his anger? Gods Church, of course. We will have to learn to stand in spiritual power against the wrath of satan that is projected towards those who have replaced him in eternal position. You say, why doesn't God just defeat satan himself so we can get on with eternity. The answer is God already has, but if we are to one day reign with him judging nations, we will have to qualify to sit on thrones. This means we must be proven in battle now by letting God make our feet like "hinds' feet" (means...sure footedness).
Demons are cast out but principalities, powers, rulers of
darkness, and spiritual wickedness in high places which must be cast down. (EPH 6:12)
Even "strongholds" and "imaginations" in our own lives that exalt
themselves against the knowledge of God, also must be cast down. (2 COR 10:4-5)
The world takes the low road but we must take the high road. One can never hope to cast anything down if they live in the pit of defeat. The world, your flesh, and satan will not surrender the high ground in your life simply because you ask them to. You will have to climb higher than ever before to cast them down. This is not an impossibility when you consider that "He (GOD) will make us to walk upon mine high places."The ability is given by God.
(Notice here that Habakkuk refers to ownership by saying the "high places" are "mine".) The inheritance was already His, and the Inheritance now, is already ours-but if we are to ever appropriate it in our lives, we will have to let the Lord "MAKE" us. Giving us the stability to stand, and the right to reign with Christ.
